1) Precipitated (verb) –
Meaning:  To hasten the occurrence of ;
Synonyms: expedite, hasten, accelerate
Antonyms: hinder, cease, slow

Usage: Why has China precipitated a fresh military crisis with India in eastern Ladakh?


2) Resilience (Noun) –
Meaning: power or ability to return to original state, position.
Synonyms: Flexibility, pliancy, elasticity, adaptability
Antonyms: fragile, Vulnerable, weakness
Usage: The question of the resilience of the Indian health system becomes more pressing

3) Skirmish (noun) –
Meaning: an episode of irregular or unpremeditated fighting, especially between small or outlying parts of armies or fleets.
Synonyms: Confrontation, Conflict, Fight
Antonyms: Peace, truce, Unanimity
Usage: If such skirmishes normally follow the melting of snowlines, for example, then why was the LAC not adequately manned

Meaning: a movement or series of moves requiring skill and care.

Antonyms: neglect, surrender, mismanagae
Usage: India must prepare for a long-drawn stand-off, and manoeuvres aimed at ensuring China’s pull back.

6) Laxity (Noun) 
Meaning: lack of strictness or care.
Synonyms: Shoody, slovenly, inattentive,  reckless, remiss, impetuos
Antonyms: chariness, wariness, carefulness
UsageLaxity in one airport can deliver the virus thousands of miles away.

7)  Allegiance (Noun) 
Meaning: loyalty or commitment to a superior or to a group or cause.
Synonyms: steadfast, devotion, homage, Adherence, obedient
Antonyms: treachery, disloyalty,
Usage: Elected representatives swear allegiance to the Constitution, and thereby to the Union of India, and not to their constituents alone.

8)  Drawdown (noun) –
Meaning: to bring down, To lower. To minimize.
Synonyms: reduction, decrease.
Antonyms: Augment, Develop, Enlarge, Extend
Usage: During the Doklam incident, even after a meeting between the leaders on the sidelines of a G-20 summit, it had taken several high-level engagements to ensure a drawdown to the 73-day stand-off.

9) Ravage (verb) –
Meaning: cause severe and extensive damage to.
Synonyms: Ruin, devastate,  ransack, desolate, despoil, maraud, wrecked
Antonyms: develop nurture, conserve, indemnify (compensate (someone) for harm or loss).
Usage: The hurricane ravaged southern Florida

10) Savage (Adj) –
Meaning:  fierce, violent, and uncontrolled. (of something bad or negative) very great; severe.
Synonyms: ravening, predatory, mutilate, mangle, lacerate, desecrate
Antonyms: tame, civilized, harmless.
Usage: His decision was a savage blow for the town
